“You will find gold tokens near the bushel” | Fort Worth Family Photographer

That was what my fortune cookie said last night. I’m not exactly sure if we have a bushel, or even what a bushel is. Dan and I tried to figure it out using context clues from past knowledge but we realized we have heard it used as an increment of measure (about a bushel’s worth) a device for covering things (“hide it under the bushel, no! I’m going to let it shine”-from This Little Light of Mine) and as some type of shrubbery. I decided to check near our bushES which I realize is probably not the bushel, but there were no gold coins.

I had the hardest time picking my favorite pictures to post on the blog for this fun session. It’s usually difficult to pick my favorite poses, but this time it was hard to pick my favorite poses and then my favorite edit of those poses. We were in a beautiful field and it photographed perfectly. So many choices! I did my best to decide…but on some of them (prime example below) I just couldn’t make up my mind!

Introducing the McCain family:

Ava was so sweet and she LOVED having her picture taken. Iris just really liked to run which was great because I got to practice panning!

We decided to try for a “good” family picture with everyone looking and smiling at the camera, and this is what we got:

HILARIOUS! Honestly I didn’t realize how goofy Iris was acting until I got home. The whole time I was trying so hard to get her to look at the camera I completely missed her genius creativity! This ended up being the “good” family photo (below)

However…I think this is my favorite (below)

Sweet Ava. Iris was not as excited about having her individual portrait taken… Iris, please forgive us.

One look to me. One look to her parents. We all suffered.

Ok….yes, yes, it is that time to announce the winner of the New Years Resolution drawing! The winner receives an item from Twiceborn Pottery which is the Lucas McCain’s business. See how I timed that so nicely.

The comments were printed out (mine were excluded obviously), we mixed and we drew…Dieu you are the winner! I will be emailing you soon about claiming your cool new piece of pottery!

Amy - What a family portraits! My favorite is the one of the mother and the older daughter (Ava?) sitting, looking to the left. Gorgeous.January 14, 2010 – 8:55 am

Dieu - I’m so happy my name was picked…..thank you so much!!! :) These pictures look amazing as usual. I love pictures taken in fields! Where was this location?January 14, 2010 – 9:58 am

KLeverenz - These were taken in South Ft. Worth directly off of Altamesa BLVD. I was just driving by one day and spotted it. By “it” I mean, the side of the road. People usually think I’m crazy when I pick locations, but I’m so glad when I have a fun client or family that will just trust me and go with it! I loved Lucas’s email to me, “We had no idea they would turn out so well!” Most people don’t during the session.January 14, 2010 – 9:26 pm

KLeverenz - and yes, Amy, I agree. I had so many favorites though. I absolutely LOVED Iris’s faces. I also loved that I completely missed what she was doing until I got home and started looking through the pictures. I was too caught up in trying to get her to be serious. Silly adults…we miss all the fun!January 14, 2010 – 9:31 pm

Dean McDermott - Super-Duper site! I am loving it!! Will come back again – taking you feeds also, Thanks.February 11, 2010 – 7:41 pm
