Bandit came along with his owners for their engagement session last weekend.

At a mere 10 months, Bandit is definitely still full puppy and oh so cute! I love photographing dogs, they are not the easiest to photograph but they are the cutest.

I’ve been a bit slow about blogging sessions since we have been moving, but now that we are officially moved in (and almost unpacked thanks to my amazing husband!) I am excited to catch up! The full engagement post is coming soon!

They LOVE squeaky bear and the best thing about squeaky bear is, they are only $1 at target! I buy out their stock every time I’m there. A good bear will last a couple of days before he/she starts loosing appendages. At this point you are thinking, why in the world is she posting about this?? Well, squeaky bear is really the master behind my ability to get anything done–the behind the scenes silent master that is– and I feel that proper homage should be given.

This is actually kind of sad, it’s like their in a line-up. Just faithful to fulfill their duty.

Ok, enough with this madness. I just needed a humorous break. Those of you waiting for your sessions to be posted who are thinking this was a waste of time, don’t ridicule the post, instead be thankful that squeaky bear is there for you.

This is one of our newest pieces of furniture. It’s in Dan’s recording studio/study room. We found it at a consignment shop a few weeks ago and both immediately fell in love. It really does look like Dan if he were in couch form. Each room in our house has it’s own personality. My office/studio is overflowing with bright vivid colors and his studio/study room is full of mellow chill vibes and hippie propaganda covering the walls, it’s like having a Yogolait and a Common Grounds all in one.

Poor Clementine, I think she has a cold or just really bad allergies. Her eyes won’t stop watering and her nose and mouth are so red.

Or so we thought… Little Nyah didn’t feel that way. My dear sweet friend has been ready to welcome Nyah into the world for about a week now, but Nyah has found her a comfortable place and decided to stay a while. Yesterday was the day before Jen’s actual due date, the day that Jim & Pam’s baby was being born (Office lovers? anyone?), a beautiful sun shining day, the day after I received my two new amazing lenses and a Thursday-the day of the week that my Jesus/Mountain/Nature loving friends gather for food and fellowship. All of these things obviously combined for the perfect day to be born. …but alas…she is still holding out.

Jen is so beautiful. Nyah is going to be as beautiful inside and out. She will come out with “glitter in her palms” as Jen would say.

A little coaxing from big brother. But still. She stays.

Lakoda is getting so big! You may remember him from one of my very first posts on my new blog.

He is also getting use to me following him around with a camera. He now poses himself. I say nothing. He’s so funny.

Nyah’s room is amazing! Jen painted the flower bird herself WHILE being prego. She is wonder-woman.

Ok Nyah, get the hint. We are so ready for you! Your room is amazing and your big bro has a few things he’d like to teach you:

Not to mention, Uncle Dan & Aunt Cake are ready to meet you! (I’m pretty sure if I had a beard Lakoda would pronounce my name correctly-it works for Dan!)

I still can’t believe this is what my backyard looks like.

Clementine is LOVING the snow.

Layla on the other hand is enjoying standing inside at the door in her warm jacket watching Clementine leap and bound through the snow.

She goes out, but for very very short periods of time and comes back quickly. She also does not like it when I forget to put her jacket on… Clementine despises the jackets. It is an insult to her hardcore-ness.

Enough about my dogs…on with the ice-cream! or, snow-cream rather

This recipe comes from my good pal Jen.

SNOW CREAM

1 Cup Sugar

1 Cup Milk

2 Tablespoons of Vanilla

2 Teaspoons of Cinnamon

8 Cups Snow

Mix all of the ingredients together in a smaller bowl before gathering the snow. If you have dogs, I suggest getting snow from the front yard!

Dan loves his plants, he’s been worried about them.

Snow is like little pieces of Heaven.

You want 8 cups, you don’t have to be exact–this isn’t rocket science. We did two scoops like what you see below:

Then of course take a break to throw a snow-ball.

Now pour your milk/sugar/cinnamon/vanilla mixture in with your snow and mix with a big’ol wooden spoon.

and…voila!

so yummy!

The phoDOGraphy sessions are already such a hit, I’ve decided to make it an October “dealio”. These “dealio”s may come up from time to time. So here is the skinny, I am setting a goal to raise $1,000 in the next month. I will donate a dog portrait session if you will donate at least $25 to the humane society or animal shelter of your choice. This session does not include any prints or digital pictures. All proofs will be posted online just like any other session. From there you can order pictures etc… The location for these sessions are flexible. If you want pictures with your pooch, please purchase a portrait session. You must sign up/send an inquiry about scheduling your session by October 31. This does not mean the shoot has to be in October, but you must sign up by October 31.

Here are some pics of my adorable dog (not bias). If you need help finding a shelter or humane society, Layla will help you out! Each pic is linked to a group of animal loving people. (Sundance is linked to a few as well, see prior post)

Due to many request, and my growing love for dogs, I have decided to start doing dog sessions. Yes, that’s right, I’ll take pictures of your pooch in exchange for a donation of at least $25 to the humane society or shelter of your choice.
