We started Stephanie & Paul’s engagement session at The Coffee Haus Downtown which is located in downtown Arlington. I could not have been more thrilled with this location, both for the session and in general. I absolutely LOVE independently owned coffee shops and it has been quite hard on my soul since both Eurotaza and Four Star closed in Fort Worth. I have no idea how the Coffee Haus went undetected on my radar for so long, but I’m glad that I have found it now! They roast their own coffee in the store and make every cup of coffee fresh. Fresh as in grind and brew when you order. If you are a coffee snob like Dan and I seem to be, this should make your heart flutter a bit. Also, did I mention free refills?

After the amazingness that was the Coffee Haus, we stopped off at the BSM on UTA’s campus which is where Stephanie and Paul first met. Stephanie & Paul brought along a ton of awesome props. This is a really great way to make your session personal.

Can you say golden light? My fave.

At the beginning of the session Paul mentioned to me that he had no idea the amount of clothing and prop preparation that was necessary for this engagement session. He said, “I thought we were just taking photos” and Stephanie responded that she has been playing dress up her whole life, so this was like a culmination of a life time of practice. I just felt you should know this before viewing the next photo.

I have to say, Paul looks like he is quite enjoying himself! This was my favorite series by far. It was right at sunset and I was getting worried that we were running out of sunlight, but it turned out that the lighting was just the perfect golden color! These were all taken in the field right next to my house. I have been wanting to use this field for a very long time and I finally got a chance!

So cute. Don’t they look like they are on a magic carpet ride! I can’t look at these pictures without having, “A Whole New World” singing in my head.

Now for the Elephant story. Paul did bring along one prop of his own, the elephant. The elephant is apparently the “symbol of bachelor-hood”. To make a long story short, it has been passed down from bachelor to bachelor and will now be passed on to the next bachelor. As the story goes, no woman would allow such a thing to stay in her home–thus, it is the symbol of bachelor-ness. I like that it is pink.

Thanks for such a fun session guys, can’t wait for your wedding!

I had so much fun in this photo-shoot!I felt like we were models, and I really appreciated Paul “playing dress up” with me! I love that coffee made it into our engagement pictures, as well as the “golden light!”

CONGRATULATIONS! I love that you used the Coffee Haus as a starting point for your engagement shoot! We did that, too! It only makes sense, right Paul?? I mean, how much time have we all really spent there? The pics are all great! Best of luck in your future together!
