River’s 6 month birthday was yesterday and Dan actually had the day off so we celebrated! First we went to the aquarium and looked at all of the fun fish. This was River’s second time to go to the Texas State Aquarium here in Corpus. Well…third if you count the wedding that I shot there when I was pregnant.

It was really windy on the observation deck.

When we came home River took a long nap. The fish really wore him out! Then he played while I whipped up his special birthday dinner.

Sweet Potatoes! We have been trying to stick with just vegetables for now. So far his diet is breast milk, barley, squash, peas, carrots and (recently added) sweet potatoes. We added carrots a few days ago but I’ve been giving him squash and barley in between to make sure he doesn’t develop a huge sweet tooth. I may be in trouble with the sweet potatoes though…he REALLY liked them. I can’t blame him, they are delicious. These in particular were fresh from our local farmer’s market. Yes, Corpus Christi has a farmer’s market! I was shocked as well…

We ended the day with a mini-portrait session in our backyard. I really tried to get him to do something different with him arms but…River had his own plans. I’m just impressed that I got him to sit and be happy in the basket!
