Today has not been the best day. My new office location was broken into this morning and computer number 2 was taken. This is 2 for 2 in the past month. I am all done with break-ins. All done. I will spare all of the details for now, I’m not in the mood to process anymore. Instead I want to think about last week.

Last week I attended the Love Affair Photography Workshop in Dallas, TX at the W Hotel. Let me tell you something, if you EVER get the chance to stay at the W, DO IT! It’s quite amazing. The workshop was equally amazing. I learned so much and best of all I got to meet 60 other photographers that can relate to working crazy hours and wanting to dance at receptions but having to hold it in. :)

Meet Dawntoya, she was the model for my shooting group. Isn’t she beautiful! If you are a photographer reading this blog you might note the difficulty of metering to darker skin as well as a bright white dress. I welcome the challenge.

You might think Dawn would be a little intimidated by a group of people with cameras, but she was absolutely graceful. Thank you again for helping Dawn!

And this is …drum roll please… Wynne Elder (of Wynne Elder Photography in Midland, TX). Wynne was the first person I had a conversation with at Love Affair and we quickly found out that we know ALL of the same people-it’s amazing that we haven’t met before. I was so nervous about attending Love Affair and after talking to Wynne I knew I was going to have a fabulous time–and I was right! This was not without a massive sacrifice of work time last week, but it was all totally worth it. I learned almost a whole moleskin notebook worth of business things. I’m so ready to start leading a balanced lovely life. One of the reasons I wanted to attend Love Affair was to fall back in love with photography again and I think I have.
