What can I say about Jessica and Ben. I just met them and I am still speechless. We met for about thirty minutes before the session to talk and get to know each other, but I was not prepared for this couple. Nope, not at all. First of all, they have been dating for just around 8 years. …EIGHT years. I can’t even imagine waiting 8 years to marry Dan! In their 8 years they have gone through a lot and they were so open to sharing their lives with me. One of the most powerful things they have gone through is the battle against cancer. Both Jessica and Ben had cancer, different forms and at different times, but they got through it with love from each other, prayers and grace from the Lord. When I asked Jessica if I could share their story, she said that they love sharing their story, especially if it gives other people hope. They are such a sweet couple and their engagement shoot couldn’t have fit them better. My original plan was going to be so fun (or so I thought), but it sort of back-fired when I found out the snow cone stand that I thought was open for business had not yet opened for the season. This, however, was just a fun challenge to overcome. They were FlExIbLe  which is my favorite word and the session went splendidly. Enjoy.

So Ben already in his short life has embraced a lot of different career options (I can definitely relate to this). He has a degree in Engineering from SMU but for a while after graduation he worked with cars and is very well versed in car knowledge and lingo, which obviously I am not… but it made me very happy to have a car guy to photograph with these great vintage cars.

As it turns out, Ben’s dad is a fire fighter.

I love this picture (above). The way Ben is looking at Jessica is so sweet. It’s like that moment when the camera really did disappear. Maybe I’m getting too sappy… Forgive me!

This next series of pictures is from our top secret mission. You can’t find brick walls like these just anywhere…but if we tell you where they are, well…this blog may self-distruct.

I’m excited for their Austin wedding. Any excuse to go to Austin is a great one for me! Thank you to Brent Holloman for my super sweet blog action.
