Kate you were so much fun to work with! We were both so stressed and nervous about everything and you were the calm in the midst of a crazy storm. Thank you so so much, I can’t imagine our wedding without you!
First, let me begin by saying thank you so much for stopping by and considering me as your wedding photographer. I realize that there are many photographers available and you have probably viewed website after website with similar images and phrases which are all starting to blur together. I realize this, because I have been there. I have been the overwhelmed Bride who starts to think, “Maybe we should just elope?”. Maybe I am wrong and you are not yet overwhelmed. If so, forgive me for jumping to conclusions. I just know that when choosing a wedding photographer (as well as other wedding vendors) it is not as easy as it seems. Esspecially, when it comes to wedding photography. Not only do you want to find a great photographer who has the equipment and knowledge to create amazing images of your day, but you also want to find someone who matches your style and will capture your wedding the way that you want to remember it. You are not just choosing someone who can take adequate photos, you are looking for someone to capture the essence of the day.

My style of photography lends itself towards photojournalistic. I capture weddings from beginning to end, paying close attention to details and little moments that may be easily forgotten. Yes, you will remember saying your vows without a picture. Yes, you will remember your first kiss as a married couple without a pictures. Yes, you will probably even remember cutting the cake together without a picture. But, will you remember when your Dad kissed you on your cheek just a few seconds before walking you down the isle? Will you remember when the flower girl looked up at you with wide beaming eyes and called you a princess? Will you remember the tear your grandmother delicately dabbed away from her face during your vows? Will you remember when your best friends all started singing Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” at the reception? Will you even see all of these moments? These are all very real moments that I have captured at past weddings. These moments are the reason people fall in love with their wedding images. Yes, I will take a picture of your vows, your first kiss and you cutting the cake. Make no mistake, I am there to capture ALL of your wedding. But, for me, that includes the little moments as well. I feel it is my mission to seek out these moments and freeze them. It is my calling on your wedding day to be the capturer of the memories you are making and I love every minute of it.
Words cannot express how thankful we are to have had you as our wedding photographer. You captured the energy, love and emotions of the day so well. We are in love with all of our wedding images. Thank you, again!
I also consider myself to be an artist. It isn’t enough that I find the moments, I also want to make them appear as beautiful as they actually were in person. I have been asked in interviews before what my “style” of photography is and I have come up with a short answer that I feel adequately describes my style. Here it is: Artistically Observant. I try to see things in artistic ways and capture them with flare. I have said a lot about capturing spontaneous moments and while it is true that during the prep, ceremony and reception that is my style, I also must mention that during portrait time I am quite directive. Most of them time when Brides book me I soon receive a call from Mom who is nervous that because my style seems so relaxed we will not be taking family portraits. This is just not true. Please feel free to request a viewing of a full gallery to view a full wedding from beginning to end. You will be able to see that I try my best to mix traditional style portraits with modern style. Wedding party portraits are some of my favorite images. I love posing people, especially Brides & Grooms. I love taking more modern portraits of the wedding party and we usually do these outdoors. However, I also always have lighting on hand for indoor traditional portraits as well if requested.

I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark ii which is one of Canon’s leading professional camera bodies. It shoots at 21 megapixels. So, if you wish, you can enlarge your wedding images to the size of a highway billboard. I shoot with a variety of L series lenses, canon on and off camera flashes and I also use reflectors from time to time outdoors. I never use the flash during the ceremony unless requested due to extremely low lighting. I believe that using the flash is distracting and takes away from the event in which I am trying my best to silently capture. I do, however, use my lighting gear for indoor portraits as well as receptions. Click here if you would like a full listing of what’s in my bag on a typical wedding day.

Over the years I have found a formula which allows me to capture weddings to the best of my ability. Because of this I strongly recommend including a second shooter and at least 6 hours of wedding day coverage in your wedding package. My recommended wedding package (Package A) also includes an engagement session, a 10×10 Flushmount Wedding Album and all of the high resolution digital images on DVD. It is extremely important for me to have a second shooter at all of my weddings because they allow me the freedom to capture some of the detailed moments that would have been missed. Having a second shooter also allows for multiple angles during the wedding ceremony. I have found that 6 hours of wedding coverage is the very minimum needed to capture pre-ceremony or “getting-ready” pictures, creative/artistic portraits, the wedding ceremony and reception. Engagement sessions are a great way for me to meet you as a couple and get to know you. It is such a delight to get to know couples before the wedding and it allows for a more relaxed picture taking experience on the actual wedding day. If you are booking me out of town and we cannot work out a way to get together for an engagement session, you can swap your engagement session for additional sides (pages) in your wedding album.
Finally, the Flushmount Wedding Album. I realize that having the digital files is what everyone desires and I completely understand. I myself have the digital files from my wedding day and I treasure each and every picture. As a photographer I see many of my images printed through companies which do not market to professional photographers. These companies are focused on quantity not quality. The quality of the flushmount wedding album that I offer is unmatched by any consumer album printer. My album company (Forbeyon) delivers the very highest albums in the industry. My monitor is also calibrated to Forbeyon as well as my other print fulfillment companies. When you print via another printer, I no longer have any control over colors, contrast, exposure or saturation. Even though every image you receive on your DVD is edited, if my monitor is not calibrated to the printer that you choose your photos could print very differently than they were intended to print.

If you have made it this far, I am impressed! Please feel free to use the contact page to email me with any other questions or set up a time to come by my office or meet for coffee. Thank you again for considering me as your wedding photographer. It would be my honor to be a part of your special day.
Basic wedding coverage starts at $2,300 and album packages begin at $3,250. Small weddings requiring less than 3 hours of coverage may be booked at an hourly rate of $300 per hour for one photographer.
